Getting Rid Of Ex
My question involves a roommate in the State of: Minnesota
I have an ex girlfriend who won't move out of my home, what can I do to get rid of her?
We have lived together for 6 years. The first year I didn't ask for any monetary help, but she insisted on paying something so I told her to pay whatever utility bills she felt like paying.
The second year she started accusing me of infidelity (I think it's because of her past relationship). After the 3rd time she accused me of this I told her that our relationship would be over if she didn't trust me. She apologized and things were fine for about 3 months, then it started again.
I moved into another bedroom and we have been (strained) roommates for the last 3 years. Last fall we agreed she would leave at the end of May 2008. I told her that I would be looking for a roommate to move in as of June 1st and the room she was in would be rented out for $650 per month. She continued to pay utility bills until April but then stopped paying anything.
Now it's June and I can't get a roommate because she is still here. How do I get her to leave?

Re: Getting Rid Of Ex
If she won't go willingly, you'll need to take her to court for an eviction. You can find the info, steps involved, and fees at:
http://www.mncourts.gov/district/4/?page=277
After a successful eviction order, Minnesota law provides for a 24 hour order called a Writ of Recovery of Premises and Order to Vacate, at which point the sheriff's office in your county can force her to leave.
