Won Trip But Being Denied The Prize
Recently my family and I won a trip while we were traveling in Miami, FL, we got a boat trip to the Biscayne Bay, and during the excursion the ship personnel gave several prizes including a trip to the place that you choose among 8 locations. The girl explained to my wife that we must attend a meeting in order to get the prize, my wife refused to attend the meeting and the girl told to her that we must go to the meeting only if we need air tickets, but we didn’t need because we live in Miami and we chose Orlando. The girl also told to us that we must activate the prize in one month and then we’ll have a year to make the trip. My wife paid 50.00 dollars and she registered her prize as instructed.
Today my wife received a call from the Travel Agency to validate some information that she gave before when registering, one question was “Do you speak English?” she said “No” and asked to her to speak with someone who speak Spanish, the lady told her that she lamented too much but the prizes were only to persons who speak English that she can find it very clear in the “Term and Conditions” that we received. I personally revised the Terms and Conditions and I didn’t find any clause related to the language, she told to her that she doesn’t worry about the money that they will reintegrate the 50.00 dollars.
My question is: Is this legal even when no one advised to us before and it’s not stated in the Terms and Conditions
I appreciate any help
Thank you
Alan

They can make you abide by the terms to execute the contract, no terms, as you say did not exist, they had better pay out!!
