Shoplifter Wants LP Job In Arkansas
This concerns my good friend I have known through high school. i know he has been stealing since senior year in high school and just recently has stopped stealing he just finished his second year in college. Most of everything he stole he gave to friends, and he kept a notebook and coded it (in case he was caught ) telling him all in all how much stuff he had stolen. And it was around $25,000. What is mind boggling to me is that he has never been caught, never been close. Nothing really extraordinarily bad has ever happened to him, that tells me no such thing as Karma at ALL. That's besides the point, We live in Arkansas and He has stopped but would like a job as a Lp at a wal-mart. He has a clean record but no "experience" for Lp but I know for a fact he would be great at it. But he can't just walk in and say "Hey, I think you need to hire me it will do you some good. I have stolen from this wal-mart and many other stores in this state and you guys have never been close and I have used techniques you have never seen." I just needed to know what or how he needs to go about being a LP at any store. I will check this everyday, and if you need more details just ask and YE shall receive.
Re: Shoplifter Wants LP Job In Arkansas
If you want a job, you needs to demonstrate that you have the qualifications the employer wants. So you should look at the job ad, see how your qualifications match up, and get any credentials that you lack such that you qualify for the job.
Being a habitual, unrepentant thief isn't going to help you get a job in loss prevention.
Re: Shoplifter Wants LP Job In Arkansas
Most LP jobs require you pass a criminal background check. If you have not been arrested and charged then its unlikely they will know of the thefts. However with such a career in theft I would strongly suggest you seek different occupation
Re: Shoplifter Wants LP Job In Arkansas
BUT WAIT!!! A shoplifter that wants an LP job!
Cool!
With that line of thinking I'm wonderin' why Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy didn't get positions as homicide detectives in some major metro police departments!:wallbang:

Remember, my friend, it takes a thief to catch a thief!
The OP says he... err.. I mean his "friend" never got caught. If thats the case, I don't see how previous "habits" would be a problem in the hiring process. The only way a employers have to ascertain criminal history is through a background check.
As for experience... again, I don't see any problem. Look at all the idiots on here (not you) that have been LP's. Granted most have been fired, but...
Re: Shoplifter Wants LP Job In Arkansas
He hasn't ever even gotten a speeding ticket in his life. His record is very clean. He is done and has been for a while. But I also think it takes a thief to catch a thief.
And I know most LP's have God complexes and nothing gets by them but there is. Don't be ignorant.

Well WTF have I been doing going about things the "wrong" way? I could've been pulling jobs all over, THEN, got my 'real' job by virtue of all that "practical" experience!
What was I thinking?
Sooooooo, Nascar drivers would make great traffic cops....corner dealers would make great pharmacists.....home invaders would make great robbery detectives....rapists would make great gynecologists....credit fraudsters would make great collection agents....pedophiles would make great babysitters..........
I gotta say, I had it all wrong all these years.............NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Shoplifter Wants LP Job In Arkansas
I was just being a smart ass regarding the whole "It takes a thief" concept. The OP made a grave error in taking me serious. Nobody has ever done that before. :p
That said. You have taken this whole thing out of context. A former thief working as an LP could be a tactical advantage. It might be good having an inside man telling you all the secrets of this former occupation.
Re: Shoplifter Wants LP Job In Arkansas
former criminals can be police officers. even if charged and convicted.
why cant op be an LP then? he hasn't even been caught or convicted.
although seriously you might want to get a psy/med opinion about the ocd stealing. subconsciously this may be your next level of challenge.
Re: Shoplifter Wants LP Job In Arkansas
anyone with a criminal record is barred from becoming a police officer.
