I was recently in Pennsylvania for grandparents rights where my ex and i were named as defendants. My ex and i have shared parental of 2 children. I didnt have an attorney with me because it was my mom seeking grandparents rights because my ex is being well an ex, always fighting everything. We were put in front of a mediator and they wouldnt let me in to the conference room as things were being dicussed as the well being of our 2 children. Mediator never talked to me once. Mediator pretty much let my ex's attorney run the whole preceedings. My mom's attorney was a total bust because my mom has never used him. My mom and i are from different states and the children are in pennsylvania with my ex. I am wondering what legal rights do i have to go after the state of pennsylvania for allowing a mediator to make a decission on our childrens well being without consulting me and total disregaurd to me as a parent with shared parental of 2 children. I know i have rights but not sure which directions to go. Do i sue for defendant rights violation, parental rights violation? Any help or brainstorming is appeciated
Mediators do not make any decisions. They assist the parties in coming to an agreement on the issues.
Did you agree to any of the issues? Did you sign any agreements?
Re: Parents Rights Violation
No i didnt sign anything because they didnt even talk to me, it was a small town. felt like i was in a good ole boys setting. I should of been consulted and wasnt.
