How To Make My Troublesome Roommate Leave?
    Roommate problem in NY state

Me and 2 of my friends rented an apartment in Rochester NY. SInce the other 2 did not have enough money for security deposit we decided to rent the house under me. One of my friend wanted to move out(for her personal reason and no issues with us) and she told me about a month prior so it was ok. but the roommate stayed. Since the our other friend left she became a neusance. She slams the door, she talks to her friend so loudly, she never washer her dishes etc... I tried talking to her since we are friends. But she always tried to argue with me.

ANyways, Our agreement was till end of May. She always mentioned that she was going back home at the end of May. I made my own plans to renew the lease for another year. When I went and spoke to her on May 6th 2008 asking about her plans she rudely aggressively said that she doesn't have any plans and that she's planning to stay and I should have first asked her before making my plans and that it was my responsibility to come talk to her. I totally disagreed and she was very aggressive to me. So as a sensible person I gave her a month to find another place.

On May 15th I casaully asked her what her plans are and she started shouting at me and scolding me and was being very aggressive saying that I'm always troubling her. I'm just wanted to know whether she was looking for a place but she was not.

Can you please give me advice on how I can make her move out by June 6th. I read some other posts saying giving a formal notice to leave. But I need her out by 6th of June since I have other guests who'll be coming to stay in my apartment. Please respond to me ASAP.

ps. She's not on the lease and she pays rent and utility bills directly to me.

You'll have to take her to court to get get her out.

It's going to take longer than until June 6th. Don't lock her out, you'll land in hot water.

Thank you for your help and the resources. I was really worried that she wont move out and that I might have to go through a long process.... but thank god she moved out by herself without giving me trouble. Thanks again for your advice. I'm pretty sure so many others maybe facing the same problem and this is a great place for resources and advice.
