Re: Statutory Rape In Texas
What are you doing having sex at 14 anyways, your just a baby. Your boyfriend is considered a legal adult at the age of 17 and at age 14 and under would be considered agg sexual assault. I hope your mom does go to the police. A 17 year old has no business with a 14 year old.....That is all.

My question involves criminal law for the state of: texas
My boyfriend and i got caught having sex when i was 14 and he was 17.
he is 3 years and 7 months older than me.
1 year and 6 months later my mom is threatening to press charges.
can she do that?
Yes, yes she can.
No state in the union gives 14 year old children the ability to consent to sexual unions with someone more than 3 years older.
None.
Your mother actually has several YEARS to bring charges... as do you.
Re: Statutory Rape In Texas
Not only are criminal charges possible, but so are a restraining order against Mr. Wonderful that will land him in jail for contacting you in ANY way (if mom chooses to pursue it), not to mention the hassle, embarassment, and career-demolishing status as a registered sex offender.
