Re: Emancipation Laws For Ohio
No, you would need your parents' permission.
Seriously though, you shouldn't get married at 16.

Re: Emancipation Laws For Ohio
Courts are inclined to deny the petition of emancipation if there is any reason to do so.
Do you have a job? Are you currently living on your own?
Listed among the reasons that will NOT emancipate you is....
I fight with my mom.
I want to get married at 16 and my mother said no.
I want to date someone that my mother doesn't want me to date.
So, what is your reason for emancipation? Are you fed and clothed and sheltered? Are you being beaten (which is actually a reason to go into foster care, but I thought I would through it out)?
Re: Emancipation Laws For Ohio
Depending on where in Ohio you are, it is quite possible that you not only need your mother's permission to be married, but permission of the court as well.
The ONLY way to be emancipated in Ohio is either to be legally married, which requires your parents permission and in some places permission of the court, or to join the active armed forces, which also, at your age, requires your parents permission, and I wouldn't be surprised if also the permission of the court.
There is NO other way for a minor to be emancipated in Ohio. And if the marriage (or the military service) ends before your 18th birthday, the emancipation is automatically revoked and custody reverts to your parents.
