Mental Abuse by Parents
My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: California
Is there anyway of getting out of a house with verbally abusive parents. They do not physically hurt you in any way other then stressing you out to the point of puking and constant shaking.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Re: Mental Abuse
Report the alledged abuse to CPS, a school counselor, teacher etc.

Re: Mental Abuse
Well heres the deal... my girlfriend wants to get out of the house but doesnt want her younger brother taken out of there (since her dads sexist and treats the son like a king.) School counselor said theres nothing they can do and shes afraid to go to cps from past experience.
I understand theres never a set answer to this but would it be possible to just get her taken out of the house? She also doesnt want to stir things up and have nothing happen due to the fact that her dad is crazy and might go past the point of verbal and turn it physical.

Re: Mental Abuse
The answer remains unchanged if there is possible abuse then CPS should be called

Re: Mental Abuse
No. It would not be possible just to have her taken out of the house.
Is that clear enough for you?

Re: Mental Abuse
I know she wont go to cps on verbal abuse alone since theres no real evidence.
What about getting pictures of all the pipes and weed he has? We think hes got a prescription though to it now but is it at all illegal to leave it where a child can easily access it? He's a double felon so if he screws up at all hes (supposedly) in for life.

Re: Mental Abuse
Honestly i dont know. Im just finding out what i can to see what kind of chance she has with anything. Personally i would rather see him in jail

Re: Mental Abuse
You got the correct replies. Just because you or the victim doesnt like them doesnt make them less accurate

Re: Mental Abuse
I understand that, im not at all complaining i know how it works. But the fact that im picking up a little attitude in your guys post isnt making it any easier. With multiple suicide attempts and cries of help with no response makes me very motivated to help her out thats all.
