Is This Incident Between Me And The Store Even Though The Police Were Called?
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Massachusetts

I was caught shoplifting $60.82 worth of goods at a grocery store. (In Massachusetts the law is divided between under $100 and over $100 but the LP seemed particularly concerned about my theft - he said it was too much to not call the police. He called the police to verify my identity by running my social security number through their database. The police woman took my student ID and my drivers permit out to her car for about 10 minutes to run the information and the address I gave matched the social security number I gave.

In the store's office, I signed a criminal trespass form that stated I would never go to the store again, the LP filled out a form with my name, address, social security number, phone number and a list of the items I had taken without paying. He also gave me a letter about a civil demand they will be sending me.

My question is this: although the police were there and involved, they said nothing about citing me or charging me and gave me no information about their involvement...does this mean that this incident is between me and the store? I am worried that it will be on my record or that I will be called to go to court, especially since I am moving out of the state in a few weeks.

No, the incident is still between you, the store and the police.

Typically, retailers have up to a year to file charges, so yes, you very well could get dragged into court.
