Emancipation In Texas

My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Texas

well its just that i wnt to get emancipated ..but now that im reading all these threads i realized that maby thats just not the best thing and well my second opption is that i wnt to go live with my sister because im the most happiest when im with her ... were im at now well lets just say its not wer i want to be..my dad always thinks i do other stufff and im starting to hate it ...i mean i been through alot here in this house my dad is the worst though we can go weeks without looking or saying a word to each other and there has been times were hes touched me but i mean i didnt take it seriously i mean he dosnt dare to touch me anymore he knows better that that now...but i just dnt feel safe here i tell my mom over and over ..but she dosnt listen to me i need to leave this town and house so i can have a better future and life with out worrying as much as i do here....so i knw emancipation isnt really going to work is ther anyway i can go live with my sister??....please help me

Brenda, going to live with your sister will work if your parents give you permission to do so.

i mean they just dont understand i wish they did ...but they just dnt listen to me and i really wnt to leave but idk ..they just wont listen i tried so many times...is there nothing i can do ?

You don't write anything that even suggests that emancipation is an option.

You can't leave home without your parents' permission, they could report you as a runaway and anyone helping you could have legal repercussions for it.

Maybe family counseling would get you and your family back on track.

well yea i knw that ...but i mean my family already tried that and it hasnt changed at alll..i really wish it did ...but it hasnt ....yea well i knw emancipation was my first option but like i said i dnt think that would work imean i have 2 jobs i have good grades...and i knw i can do it but i just think i wnt to go through all that ..thats why i wnt to go live with my sister...could she adopt me shes 22 ..??

To be adopted would require terminating your parents' rights, and a Judge does not make a decision like that without a very good reason.

Your best option is to get permission.

Otherwise, continue with counseling and hope it will help make things tolerable until you are of legal age to move out.
