    UI Eligibility And Interview
My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: California

    Hi,

I have filed for UI benefits in California. I got terminated from my job of 4 yrs for poor performance. I did not get fired but I was given an option to leave my job since I was put on a formal performance. And I took that option and left the company. The reason I left, I had been trying to change my field of career for a while and things were not happening in the company and also things were too stressful and political to bear. I could not work there any longer. And I was also under lot of emotional stress in my personal life. Now, I am not sure if I will be eligible for UI benefits. Could someone please let me know if I will be. And also what should I state in my interview so that I will be eligible. Could someone please let me know.

    Thanks,

To be eligible you need to be unemployed through no fault of your own. You could apply, and then you would most likely have a telephone interview that would determine if you meet the eligibility requirements. No one can tell you what to say in the interview, other than be honest.
