Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas
My question involves adoption law for the State of: Texas
I want to be in an orphanage. I do not wish to live with any members of my family, nor do I want them to be able to contact me, or have any right of visitation. Is this possible? How would I go about doing this? CPS would only put me one of my relatives household, and I don't want that.
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas?
Quite simply, no, that is not possible.
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas?
why not?
I mean my families financial situation is bad, I live with 3, or possibly 4 drug abusers and alcoholics, and I don't even have a room.
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas?
It's not possible because that's not the way it works and as a child, you don't get to make the rules.
If you feel like you're being abused, contact CPS. If they feel that they need to intervene, they will.

Two Ways to Report Abuse (in Texas)
1-800-252-5400

You can also talk to a teacher at school, the school counselor or nurse - your family doctor or religious leader... all of them should know how to report child abuse and can help insure you are in a safe environment.
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas?
I hate America because of things like this. I'm 16, I'm not just pissed off at the moment, and trying to make rash decisions. I found that reply to be just a little condescending in my direction. Obviously, according to my parents actions, age does not guarantee responsibility, and ability.
Now I've been through this before. CPS will try to stick me with my grandparents who will eagerly accept because they like the benefits that having me gives them. Plus my mom doesn't get along with them, so this would just be another thing that they could stick in my mothers side.
Are you absolutely positive that there is nothing I can do.
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas?
There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the law that will allow you to dictate to CPS where you be placed, that will prohibit your relatives from contacting you, or that will allow you to put yourself in an orphanage or put yourself up for adoption.
NOTHING.
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas?
You were offered a different place to go, you don't want to live there, there is nothing more they're going to do. Either your situation at home is really bad or you're just throwing a tantrum.
What's so wrong about living with your grandparents?
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas?
Well then, America, this sad excuse for a country, problems many, and solutions few, will never be able to meet my standards. Nothing in this world will be able to meet what I am looking for, nor will they even come close.
It is sad I live in Texas, that so far away from Canada. Thank you for you responses, assuming that you get this last reply, or that you haven't reported it for being a foolish subject, and me assuming that you probably don't care one way or another about what happens to me, or anyone else for that matter. I will be leaving my family one way or another. If only I was stuck on this intolerable hunk of dirt titled the "Americas" then I could live somewhere better. But I'm stuck with Mexico, or Canada. And I feel better off in Canada. Or if I don't even get the choice, of staying in a country that I find slightly more tolerable than this dirt mound, then I can always choose death.
If you reply, I look forward to reading it. Poke at some tiny little technicality in my logic, See what good it does, or give back meaningful advice on what I should do.
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas?
And just how do you expect to gain entrance into either of those places?
Re: Putting Oneself Up For Adoption In Texas
I'm not gonna lie, Illegally, I will walk into Canada. I will take buses as close to that border, and then I will go to a well wooded area, and walk.

Actually, if the OP will wait until he/she is 18 and can legally obtain citizenship on their own in either country (as if Mexico will even THINK of taking him - they like people to leave, not come), then I will gladly pay for the application fees for him to leave and never come back.
