My husband ex-wife wants OUR Tax returns
after 15 years of receiving the same child support; my husband ex-wife wants an increase in her support (because we had a baby)- I know she is entitled to an increase, but her lawyer has asked for our tax return for the past two years. I don't feel my information has anything to do with this. I'm a very private person when it comes to money. Do we have to give her the returns; shouldn't the w2 be enough.

    Tax Returns
I'm assuming that these are joint returns?

It's not immediately apparent why the prior two years' tax returns would be relevant to the determination of child support. If the ex-spouse has a right to discovery, her lawyer may well be within his rights to demand those documents under the rules of discovery - but it may be possible for your lawyer (assuming you have one) to object to discovery or to obtain a protective order limiting discovery if the circumstances require.

The obligor to the CS order, is that...not you....however, states do evaluate the 'station' of the new family economically when modifying the order for child support..
You may wish to consider filing separate as another way of dealing with this...at least for the period of time it takes to resolve via lawyers.

I am a CS payor, remarried and this did cost use a few hundred more in taxes, but was simple for my accountant to do, timewise after we had our yearly meeting....
