False Hostage Murder Report To The FBI
I'm trying to help find my friend a course of action against a false report to the FBI about him. We live in Texas if that has anything to do with it. What happened is that he was on the webcam chatting site stickam.com and got in an argument with someone that had been "stalking" a friend of his. This ended in him cussing that person out. The guy said something about messing with the wrong person and that he would do something to him (I may be getting this story a little wrong). A few days go by and then the FBI raids his home looking for a dead hostage and one who had been shot at 5:00am with loaded shotguns, handguns, and assault rifles. He is taken in at gun point and questioned although it's fairly obvious there are no hostages much less dead ones. Due to all this his computer has been confiscated, he and his family are being evicted from their home, and he has had night terrors for the past week. There is a certain amount of evidence that this person is responsible because he has posted a video of the cops shutting down my friends computer through the web cam. I would like to know what criminal and personal charges can be brought against this person and what can be done now to strengthen any cases brought against this person. For example, should the night terrors be documented in some way and if so by who so that they would be credible.
Re: False Hostage Murder Report To The FBI
The FBI are pretty good at digging up computer stuff ... they should be able to get to the bottom of it.
I seriously doubt that they made such a raid based solely on one person's unsubstantiated allegation - that would be ludicrous, and no federal judge would have signed a search warrant under such a flimsy premise.
First, he needs to hire an attorney to defend against the federal charges. Then he can concern himself with payback - if there is any to be had.
This is far too serious a circumstance to leave to friends and acquaintances. He needs professional help, and the aid of someone who can evaluate all the details of his situation. There are a host of possibilities, but nothing more than guesses without knowing the facts as the FBI knows them, etc.
Just how well do you know this friend?

Re: False Hostage Murder Report To The FBI
About as good as myself so I figure at least some parts of it are embellished. I already know that the charges are very serious and that a lawyer is needed not me and the advice from a forum but I do know that something did happen because I've seen him wake up screaming don't shoot. I know he is being evicted because the FBI or the swat team or some form of law enforcement did in fact raid his house. The main reason I'm here is because he always comes to me for advice and this is something I can't give him bad advice over.

This is something he needs an attorney's advice on. There are far too many variables here, and no way to adequately address the issue without knowing all the facts.
The allegations are very serious. Merely making a false allegation is NOT going to get such a heavy response by the feds. There is much more at work here - or thought to be at work. If it were my friend, I would encourage him to hire an attorney ASAP.
