Ok, So Iam 16 years old and live in california and iam looking to become emancipated. I have A few questions and concerns about it though. Well to get it started i came from virginia not too long ago. The problem is my girlfriend is pregnant and is currently living there. I want to be around for my kid and be a father. i have a job and i will have a job set up for me when i return. My mother and I are completely fine in fact she is going to tell the court she thinks i should become emancipated. But i do not know if the court would find it a problem if iam living with my friend and his mom but i will be completely providing for myself and my child (which will live at my girlfriends house). my grades are good A's and B's but iam having doubt can somebody help me out and let me know what would happen.

The court is going to find it a problem that you knocked up your girlfriend at the age of 16. That does not show the level of maturity a court wants to see when granting a minor the privilege of emancipation, which happens very, very rarely.

The chance of a successful emancipation are very slim less than 1% are successful from what I have seen and heard.
