Personal Property And Bankruptcy
My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: California
I had read some of the old messages and also read some of the BK information for Chapter 7.
I was concerned how a trustee knows what kind of personal property you have, such as furniture, appliances, computer, etc.
I really don't have anything worth anything (that was all lost in a divorce several years ago, including my hone), but it is disturbing to think that the trustee can come into your home check out any property you have.
Can you tell me what the procedure is for determining this type of property?
Thanks!
Re: Personal Property And Bankruptcy
For a zero assets Chapter 7, odds are nobody is going to look past any inventory you file with the court. (But you don't want to be caught lying.)
