Theft In Minnesota
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Minnesota
I was an employee at Target. I was brought in and accused of taking unentitled discounts of less than $200 or somewhere along there. I was a good employee and have no criminal history of any sort. I am 23 years old with a college degree.
What kind of punishment am I looking at? The law provides for 90 days in jail and/or $1000 fine but I find it hard to believe I would go to jail for this.
Thoughts?

Consult a criminal defense attorney and see if you may qualify for diversion or a deferred disposition. I expect you will receive fines and probation, but you should see if you can also avoid a conviction.
