Deportation After Divorce
I just got divorced and the withdrawsl of I-130 and affidavit of support from my sponsor were filed.
How many days I still able to stay in the US until I get deportation letter to leave the country?
And if I receive the deportation letter, can I re-enter the US in the future?
And if I don't leave the country and remarry to a new spouse, can I apply new green card?
Thanks.
Re: Deportation After Divorce
The deportation letter will tell you when you need to leave by.
Since you're not being deported for a crime, you should - with proper visas, of course - be able to enter the US again later.

Do you expect to re-marry prior to receiving your deportation letter?

Thank you for your answer.
My divorced was filed and it will be final in 5 months if every thing went OK. I did not file the response; however, my ex-spouse may not submit the request for the final judgment in time.
SInce I got divorce and petition for green card and affividat of support have been withdrawn, I am expecting to receive the deportation letter any time and waiting for the divorce to be final.
Should I over stay regardless deportation letter and I will remarry to another US citizen. Can I be eligible to apply green card again?
My original visa expired in May 12-2007. I over stayed and got married; and now I am divorced without green card yet. I am afraid that if I leave US now, I won't be able to return--> take chance to over stay???
Thanks again for your answer.
