Father Spending Money On Mistress But Still Married To My Mother
My question involves divorce in the State of: California
My Father is spending big dollars on a gold digger, but he is still married to my mother. Two years ago my father threw out my mother and claimed to be bankrupt. Within two weeks he had another woman living with him and has since bought two more houses for he and his girlfriend without my mother's knowledge. Over the past ten or so years he has transferred much of their assets into sole and separate property trusts. In the event of a divorce would my mother have any claim to these assets? I'd rather not be involved but my mother is old, afraid and financially unsophisticated. Any insight into this situation would be appreciated.

The court wont like the fact he is spending down, and moving the marital assets during a separation. She will still be entitled to whatever is legally hers.

Has anyone filed for a divorce????
I would suggest that you get your mother to an attorney to file. Once done, there is a restraining order in effect to prohibit such behavior. Once you get your mother an attorney, then you don't have to be involved.

She's looking for an attorney. Several million has been spent on the mistress already. Can any of that be recovered in a divorce settlement or is that simply gone.
