My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Louisiana
I am wondering about the possibility of emancipating my 17 year old son. He is not in school. He does not have a job and is not looking for one. He does not listen to anything I tell him to do. He was previously on probation but has finished his term. He has absolutely no respect for me or my property. He has broken the sliding glass door at my house, shot holes in the shed ( my landlord made me pay for a new shed ), broken several things around the house, etc. He screams, yells, curses and tears things up when he can't get his way. His father and I have been divorced since he was three years old. His father drives a truck and is rarely home. He has not spent much time with him at all through the years. I am at my wit's end. I have no one to help me with him. I have tried everything I know to do with him and nothing seems to help. If emancipation is not an option, can I terminate my parental rights?
