    California Expungement And PC 12021
My question involves expungements or pardons for the state of: California.
I was granted expungement for a 242pc/m. The conviction is over 10 years old. The papers read "may not possess a firearm IF prohibited by penal code sections 12021 or 1201.1"

My question is: if 10 years have elapsed since my conviction does the 12021 prohibiton still apply or must I apply for relief?

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

    You mean this part?
    Quote:

Quoting California Penal Code Sec. 12021(a)(1)
Any person who has been convicted of a felony under the laws of the United States, the State of California, or any other state, government, or country or of an offense enumerated in subdivision (a), (b), or (d) of Section 12001.6, or who is addicted to the use of any narcotic drug, and who owns, purchases, receives, or has in his or her possession or under his or her custody or control any firearm is guilty of a felony.

There's nothing in that provision that suggests a time limit. Read the entire statute here.

    Thanks for the reply aaron.
I was convicted of a misdemeanor 242 which is mentioned in 12021(c)(1).
I should have been more clear about that.

I reads about a 10 year prohibition for firearms. After 10 years then what?
