    Incomplete Ticket In North Carolina
My question involves a speeding ticket from the State of: North Carolina

I received a ticket for going 55 in a 35. In the "Instructions to Defendant" section on the back, it says that "Only the checked box applies", but none of the boxes are checked. It also doesn't give the amount of the fine or court costs. I have had one ticket before, and my father has as well, and in both cases the amount of the fine was given on the ticket. Is it not being there significant in some way? Any hope that it defaults to 0?

The officer told me that I could probably get rid of the ticket by going to the district attorney's office, but I'm a bit nervous about doing so without knowing that it being blank doesn't mean he can fill in an arbitrary number.

I'm not from North Carolina, and I can't see the back of your ticket from here, so I can't help you with the various check boxes. I suggest biting the bullet, calling the D.A., and seeing if the cop is right. I don't expect any traps.
