    Accused Of Fraud In Illinois
My question involves defamation in the state of: Illinois

I was wondering if they can do this. I was attempting to purchase a train ticket and noticed that there was a student discount available. The employee at the counter asked me for ID so I showed him my college ID. He then asked for a high school ID, I had an old one with me so I showed him. He then continued and asked if I have any State ID so I showed that. Next he went to the back made copies of all 3 of my IDs and accused me of fraud. He made copies and posted them at each cubicle with all my information on them writing not to sell tickets to me. From what I became aware the student discount is only for high school students and not college. I guess he thought I was trying to get a some special discount. I asked for the copies of my ids to be taken down and he refused and said he will make more copies and post them at every station. Can he do any of this ?

    Thanks

They sure can and based on your post I would too. Intentional or not it appears (at least to me) you were attempting to fraud them. Why would you have you rold High School ID and your current College one?

The reason is because I visit and help out at my high school regularly. I just started taking a few college courses one day a week and it was my first time taking the train.

Your reason means nothing. They took an action based on your actions. I would have done the same.
