Ohio - Pre-bankruptcy Debt Not Cleared/Gaining Interest?
Greetings. A question -
My boyfriend recently pulled his credit report and discovered something that he didn't think should be there...
He filed for bankruptcy in 1/2006 and it was finalized in 4/2006. He filed Chapter 7. He had a judgment of $3,000 against him in a civil suit from 4/2005. Shouldn't the bankruptcy have taken care of that debt?
If so, what is his next step?
Thank you!

Was the debt in question included in the bankruptsy? And specifically addressed in the bankruptsy?
Generally, a judgement can't be claimed in bankruptcy but sometimes it can, lots depends on this.

He thinks it was specifically addressed, but we will double check...thank you.
Re: Ohio - Pre-bankruptcy Debt Not Cleared/Gaining Interest?
Hello again - I have come back with more information regarding my boyfriend's debt (recall there was a civil judgment against him for $3,000 a year before he filed for bankruptcy and one of his credit reports still shows he is liable for that debt).
I talked to my boyfriend and he has stated that he specifically listed that debt in his bankruptcy claim. So, he should not still be liable for it, from what I can tell.
Who should he call about this?
