Can I Legally Kick My Daughter Out Of The House
I am a resident of Florida. I have a 17 year old daughter whom I caught smoking marijuana in our house several times. She would have boys in her room til' 2-3 in the morning. She goes to school once or twice a week. And when she doesn't go to school she hangs out in our house with her boyfriend/s. She comes home any time she wants and leaves the house without letting us know where she's going. She told me that I can't do anything about it.
Can I legally kick her out of the house?

No, you can't just decide you don't want to be a parent anymore.

If you catch her with grass, call the cops.
If she is out when she shouldn't be, call the cops and have her reported as a runaway.
If there are boys in the house, throw them out... preferably through a second story window.

Where are you when all this is going on?

You are legally responsible for her until she turns 18.

    How soon will that be?

We're at work at day time and at night time she'd usually sneak her bf in her room when we're fast asleep (We were told by a concerned friend who stays with us.)
So if I kick her out, would I be imprisoned?

sounds like some midnight visits to her room are in the future.

a thorough search of her room would be happening if it were my home as well.

Then you get an alarm system and toss her out in November.

Best/worse punishment EVER - depending on if you are the parent or the child... and it works wonders...

take the door off her bedroom!

You can also call the school to check on her attendance each day. If she is not in class then call the truant officer.

Yes. And as CyJeff suggested, get a security system. Make sure her window is wired.

Additionally, lay hands on the e-mail addresses of all of her teachers and insist that if she does not show up for class, they e-mail you.

In most American high schools, attendance is taken in first period and reported to the office. After that, it varies from school to school, but none of the ones I worked in reported attendance to the office after first period. Makes it easy to show up for first period, then cut the rest of the day.
