i was caught shoplifting at Foley's and the undercover security guy took the merchandise and my informations down. he said he will not call the cop but he will sue me. i haven't received any letter in the mail yet.
will this be on my record? what should i do? please help me.
Your not in any trouble with the police/court. Wait to get a letter in the mail for a civil demand and when (or if you even do get one) pay it. And stay away from that store and shoplifting from now on. You got super lucky on this.

Dontshoplift is right. The police and courts won't be involved from the looks of it. The only lasting effect is that you were probably banned from all stores of that brand for a period of time (normally 1 year). Best of luck to you in moving on with your life.
