I'm 17 - Can I Get Emancipated

Ok... Im 17 and i turn 18 this november.. but i can't wait to move out.. And i wanna move now....THe thing is my mom smokes weed... With myolder brother in the house. and she babysits and sometimes she'll go upstairs and take a smoke break.(weed).. She gives him pills to sell for him for money..he stills her pills to get high..... So yeah.. This probably wont be enough im not sure.. ITs just i cant live with this anymore. And im ready to move on with my life.. I have a job and go to school.. Im a junior in high school.... and i need to know if im able to get emancipated.. Can someone please help me as soon as possible. .Im really ready to get out of this house.... I have a few places that people told me they would let me stay... Im going to buy a car within a month now.. I pay for my own cell phone bill i make about 5-6 hundred a month.... But am i able to be emancipated

Andrew, living with other people that are going to put a roof over your head and support you, is not being self-sufficient. Does the "tn" in your name mean you are living in Tennessee?

Doesn't matter, you are a resident of Tennessee.

he wont be supporting me. Ill be paying rent and half and half with the groceries...

There's no magic by which your planned living arrangement will bestow an emancipation statute upon the state of Tennessee.

Alright, simply put, unless you get permission to move, it isn't going to happen.

Tennessee doesn't have any statutes that address emancipation (but feel free to consult with a family law attorney and see if there are any other options.)

You are a minor until you reach the age of majority, this means you are under parental control and live where your parents allow you to live.
