    Housing Allowance For Chapter 13
I currently have a home, but plan to give it up and move into a roommate situation where I will not be listed on their mortgage. I wont be living rent free, but will simply be renting a room in their house. When filling out the paperwork for a Chapter 13, since I will be giving up my home, how are the room rent payments and sharing of utilities to my new landlord handled as expenses? Can I claim these expenses legally?

Have you discussed this with your attorney?

S/he's going to have a better grasp of your situation and be able to steer you around potential pitfalls. It's my understanding that the housing allowance varies by county in each state, and renters are limited to the IRS published standards.
