Debts Still Owed At Conclusion of Chapter 13 Repayment
We filed a ch 13 bankruptcy for a 36 month period. The 36 months will be up soon, but according to my calculations we will still owe a few thousand dollars.
How does this work? Do they extend the payment period? Are we forced to figure out how to pay off the lenders on our own?
    Help please :?:

    Cause of Debt
Is this because you haven't made all of your payments under the Chapter 13 plan?

No we have made all of them, and on time. But the 36 months will be up in April. Our payments are 231 a month, and I am sure we still owe at least 5 thousand. 6 months x 231 doesn't add up to what we owe.

    Debt Beyond Payment Plan
Have you tried to discuss your situation with your bankruptcy trustee?

I am trying to find her number now.
I was hoping there was a simple explaination without calling her. I have a phone phobia ;)

    In a paper I found...it says this:

For a period of no less that 36 months, or extended as necessary, but in no case to exceed 60 months and until such time as creditors with non priority unsecured claims recieve 20% of their claims.

So I am guessing that they will extend it?

    Extension of Chapter 13 Plan
    That's what it sounds like.
