Vindictive Roommate In Illinos
My daughter is renting an apartment in Illinois, she moved in with a friend, against advise. The friend has turned into the roommate from hell. The bottom line to this story, my daughter had back a couple of week ago. The roommate refuses to keep things picked up, will move things around knowing it will be in my daughters way. (My daughter is using a walker.) Yesterday my daughter reinjured her back and set back her recovery time, trying to move an object out of her path. The roommate was sitting right there and did nothing. My daughter had to call around to find someone to take her to the hospital.
My daughter was smart when she moved in, the landlord made seperate leases for each of them. Is there anything my daughter can do to rid herself of this roommate. My daughter doesnot want to move, the location is convenient to her school and work. There are other things, but this is what it all has led to. Is she stuck in this situation till one of them breaks?
I appreciate your help. Concerned mom trying not to butt in.
Re: Vindictive Roommate In Illinos
She can check her lease or with her landlord to see if a subtenant is allowed, then try to locate a suitable subtenant.
