Emancipation In New York
Okay where to begin...
I am 15 years old (but i turn 16 in a couple months), me and my mom don't get along at all... we constantly fight and shes constantly putting me down.. I have never been in a stable living environment because my mom says she can't deal with me.. so for the past 2 or 3 years i have been in and out.. between her house and my moms... i have ran out of things to do.. to try and make my mom proud of me but all i get is nothing... i tried in school Got straight A's (which i have never done before) and my mom didnt show any sign of being proud... i no longer feel welcome in her house and have tried everything and don't know where else to turn!
i've been looking into getting emancipated.. but i live in New York and dont exactly know how.. i found in research that... In New York state i know that there is no emancipation statue or court proceedings to get emancipated. In NY, the status of a youth depends on the facts. But, who do i talk to to get emancipated..? Do you think that its a good decision for me to get emancipated? PLEASE HELP ME! :wallbang:

Re: Please Help!
In NY, you do not get emancipated. It's that simple.
And no state will emancipate a teen for the reasons you describe.
