Deal Offered To My Daughter For Statutory Rape

Hello, I am uspetdad but my old computer doesn't work and I can't remember my password. I lost all the MP, sorry for zedex. I hope zedex you can send again. You remember my daughter, in Tennessee, was charged for statutory rape because she had sex during a party with a 14 years old boy. A deal is offered, with 3 years in prison and 5 years probation, and she'll have to register as sex offender. I think it's severe and my daughter doesn't want to imagine being in prison during three years. But it's better than two decades in prison (she was charged twice for oral sex and once for intercourse). We have to accept or not in he following weeks. What advice ?

What has her lawyer said regarding the deal?
Considering what she was faced with, it sounds reasonable.

Eitherway, whatever decision she is willing or unwilling to make, its still her decision. I hope she takes the deal and pray that you all get the counsiling that you all neeed.

You both realize that she most likely will not serve the entire three years in prison?

Happy is correct where she will see inside of prison the entire sentence being served is very slim. This is her decision not ours and if her Attorney advised her to take deal then she should follow her Attorneys advice

If she is sentenced to three years, how long'll be she really in prison, if she has a good behaviour ?

All we could do is guess but my guess is 1 year to 18 months possibly. Ask her Attorney
