Emancipation

I am 16 almost 17 and i was taken from my mama 5 years ago and she has been fighting the system to get us back and they took her rights without tellin her of the court date and i am so tired of them movin me from home to home and school to school i want to emancipate myself i live in ky and i know they have it here my momma was emancipated when she was my age as well please help me, how do i emancipate myself

Your wrong KY has no statute not if they did at one time I cannot say

i go to school with some kids and they have been emancipated so i know it is in ky why peopel keep saying you cant in ky when you can

They are lying to you.

Children can only be truly emancipated via a court order. If your friends have parents that have chosen to allow their kids to live somewhere other than with the parents, it is not legally emancipation.

And may, in fact, be illegal.

However, that doesn't concern you. I know that a year seems like a lifetime at 16, but it will pass.

There is no statute to be emancipated in KY. Even if there was, you wouldn't be a candidate. You must be living on your own, you must have a job and you must prove to a court that you can take care of yourself and all your expenses as an adult would.

You will not be emancipated to allow you to live with a mother the court has declared incompetent to raise you. I know you feel your mother was railroaded. I might agree if I heard the details. However, the court doesn't care.

railroads isnt quite the word but anyhow i had a job the state made me quit cuz they found out i was talkin on phone to my momma but if hse took the case back to court even tho they terminated her rights what chance would she have to win even tho she had to call them and they never informed her of such court date? Why do kids get emancipated then? I can get my job back and can prove where i will be living it so i heard you can get advocate and have this petition the court

There is no statute in KY. You cannot do this.

You missed the point. There is no statute. Even if there was emancipation is about self support not living with your Mother courts deemed unfit. If your Mother wants to challange or revisit ruling tell her to file a motion. Now we can do this like most posts on this topic and go back and forth but I guarantee you nothing will change. Your state has no statute and even if it did you do not meet criteria. Emancipation is not an option.
