    Termination of a Month-to-Month Tenancy
My girlfriend lived in a 2 family home.
She was on 1 side, her sister was on the other.
My girlfriends lease ran out years ago, and her landlord never renewed it.
Well, the sister got in a fight with the landlord, and the landlord evicted both of them.
Gave them 1 months notice to get out.
Because he was a nice guy *cough cough*, he gave my girl a whole extra month to get out. Reason for the eviction was because of *renovation*
Well, after she left, all he did for *renovation* was paint the walls.
    Is this legal?
I was under the impression that 1 of the reason for eviction was renovation, but since when is painting renovation?
Does she have any legal recourse?
She didn't do a thing wrong, to get evicted, but, he wanted to renovate, so he could evict her.
Now, we are 8 days into the month, and he has a *for rent* sign on the window. Musta been some helluva renovation huh?
So, can she take him to small claims court or something?
Or do anything legally, to turn his life upside down, kinda like what he did to her?

    Termination of month-to-month tenancy
Is there a state or local law or ordinance which prevents the termination of a month-to-month tenancy on one month's notice? Because in most of the U.S., that's all it takes.
