Got Ripped Off By Vendor, Vented In Blog And Now Its Slander?
    Hello,

So I was dealing with a wedding vendor off ebay. I paid and never received her services. She kept good communication with me and promised that it will arrive in 2 weeks or this and that and if I did not want to wait, she was willing to refund my money. At around 35 days after payment, I let her know that paypal only protects me up to 45 days after payment and if I would be able to get the items in my hands by then. Then communication stopped. on the 43rd day I filed a claim with paypal for unreceived items. I at that point sent her an email saying I still wanted to continue business with her but filed a claim to protect me for another 25 days. Paypal confirmed that if i received anything within that period, the claim would be dropped. She then wrote me a vicious email and stated "you are now at the mercy of paypal for a refund as I have already taken the funds out of my account"

I waited the full 25 days and since she never responded in the paypal claim, paypal issued me a credit. Her ebay account received 12 negative feedbacks and subsequently got suspended.

I was so upset, as this process took 3 months of wedding planning down the drain. I wrote in my blog about the experience, and I admit I did mention her company name. I talked about how much time it took to get no where, and how her ebay account got suspended shortly after because 12 other brides lost money to her. It sparked comments from other people claiming to have been ripped off by her as well, and the vendor also commented on my blog harassing the commenters and me by providing personal information (names, emails and phone numbers of the commenters) and insults and such.

I then get an email quoting slander and libel and she claims that she was a victim of fraud and that SHE never personally did those comments on my blog (however she also comments on other brides blog talking about intimate details of their weddings) She also claims she has the FBI investigating (which i think is a bunch of hocus pocus) and that she has attorneys ready to file suit etc etc against me if I do not take down that post.

My main question is, why am I not able to talk about my experience. I did not threaten her, I was recanting step by step what happened to me. Every event was true as I have the emails and transaction statements to prove it. She may have been a great vendor to other brides, but she was awful to me.

Then it's not libel. Tell her to hush her mouth and go lie down.

There is no law preventing you from telling the truth in your blog.

    Thank you SO much

I ended up re-writing the experience on my blog to not hold her personally responsible for the situation (since she is claiming that it was her employee that caused all the problems not her)

Could someone please look over the most recent post to make sure that it does not constitute as slander/libel/defamation

The entry below it was the original post which I removed, but the comments remain. She also claims I am a girl named Stacy, which I am not, and further proves that there are many unhappy customers of hers.

    Thank you!
