    Sealing Records In California
20 years ago plead guilty lewd and lascivious behavior with child in California.
I know, sick, but don't want to go into it. Was sorry then and still.
    Felony.
Did 20 days in a work camp. I don't know if that is considered prison.
Had 5 years probation to do.
Immediately requested and received permission to move to Florida.
Been and still in Florida all this time.
Did my 5 years probation and did/do not have to register as a sex offender.
In all this time I have never even had a speeding ticket and have been
a law abiding citizen, husband, father, grandfather, etc. No problems.
Am retired. Served 11 years honorably in army with 18 months combat
    in Vietnam '66-'67.
Drinking (alcoholic) was a factor but not cause nor excuse for any action.
I have been clean and sober for 15 years. I do no drugs nor smoke.
Is it possible to get this off/reduced/sealed/whatever from records.
    How? Why?
Thanks.:wallbang: (yes been banging head all this time and will continue)

    Re: California Laws
What was the specific charge for which you were convicted?

Was this work farm under the supervision of the county or the state?

    For more information, go here:

If you were never sent to state prison, you may be eligible to have the charge reduced and then dismissed. However, this will not remove the arrest and information from your record, and if you were required to register before, you will still be required to register unless you make a separate motion to the court.

    Re: California Laws
Thank you for the quick response.
I came here in a moment of weakness.
I don't remember the specific and exact charge.
Plead on one felony count. I do not have to register.
I found my name for the first time searching a new database.
It did not list any specific info except that a criminal charge was made.
No one would find that except in California.
I, or anyone, I guess, could pay to have a record search.
I have had no legal problems since all this happened.
I'm sure an NCIC would bring it up.
So I will let well enough alone and be content that I am luckier than many.
I work with the homeless and down and out. Many are registered sex
offenders and are harassed constantly. Most have it coming to them.
I have no pity for myself or anyone with charges as these.
I try to help myself by helping others.
    Thanks again.:)
