Arrest Was Issued What Do I Do Now?
recentely i recieved two tickets one for driving an uninsured vehicle and one for driving on a suspended license. i was taken to jail and given 2 tickets and released within five to ten minutes. now the court date i was given i went to. i pled guilty to driving on a suspended license and they threw out the ticket for driving an uninsured vehicle due to evidence that the vehicle was insured. now that day i was given a fine amoutn to pay of $428 , i am a single college student and i didnt have the funds to pay the fine. so i have not paid it. the judge advised me if i paid the fine by feb 28 that i didnt need to return to court, if i didnt that i needed to show in court. now on that day i was in the hospital so i wasnt able to make it to court i called the circuit clerk of dupage and asked what i should do they advised me to call bakc and see what the judges ruling was on my case. when i called back they informed me that there was a warrant put out for my arrest, he gave me two optons option #1 to pay the fine and fill out a motion to vacate the warrant but until they approve it if they do that the warrant would still be active. or option #2 is to turn myself in to the police station and pay 500 dollars to bond myself ,out and be given a court date. they set my bail at $5000. so which option should i choose and if i choose them what are the ins and outs of both. i am very scared i have never had a warrant out for my arrest , i have never been to jail but for those 5 minutes, and i have no rrecord i even had the speeding tickets i had vacated so my license is unsuspended. Please Help!!!
