Going Back To A Store - MN
I was caught shoplifting a $20 item from a store but I wasn't arrested - I'm a minor and they just said they would send me a civil demand notice which I haven't gotten yet. (It's been a little over a month.) They took my driver's license to get information, but other than that I don't think they have a picture of me. They said I was not allowed in that store at any location or two other stores for 3 years..but I was just wondering how likely it is that they will recognize me at the two other stores? I look nothing like the picture on my license and I don't think they have another picture of me. I'm definitely not planning on going to any of the stores anytime soon because I know how stupid that would be, but I'm really just curious as to how likely it would be for them to recognize me.

If you are sighted either via picture or someone knowing your face you can be arrested for tresspassing. Also they could file the shoplifting charges you averted if SOL has not run out. Its not worth the risk stay out of the store
Re: Going Back To A Store - MN
Simple answer----stay out of those stores until about this time in 2011. That way you won't have to concern yourself with any possible consequence.
Re: Going Back To A Store - MN
I remembered some kids when I worked out of a Loss Prevention office. Nowadays there are automatic camera systems that link into a database, similar to what casinos have. In some cases they will remember you and in some cases you can press your luck.
If you press your luck you can likely see shoplifting AND trespassing charges.
IF you want back in the store it is likely going to take the approval of the store manager. If it is a chain then they likely have a ruleset which will not allow them to make exception to those rules. You will have to wait outside while your friends BUY their CDs or clothes.
