Emancipating in North Carolina

HUGE question. [b]DO I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO GET EMANCIPATED? I mean, cant I just tell my mom I am moving out and then just leave?
I know she wont give consent for that, but really...what legal action could she take? As long as I leave willingly, no one can get arrested, right? PLEASE HELP :?: thank u :D
