Possesion Of Drug Paraphernalia

My friends and i were caught by a game warden smoking marijuana. He only charged us with Possesion of Drug Paraphernalia which is a Class C Misdemeanor. I am 20 years old and live in the state of Texas in small town called Wichita falls. I was planning on doing Deferred Adjudication, pleading no contest and then expunging the record later. Would this work? I have only ever had a parking and speeding ticket before. I dont really have the money for a lawyer and i have heard that this wouldnt be that big of a deal, but it may cause problems for me down the road getting into different colleges or getting a job. What would your advise be?

I don't know what lawyers cost in your neck of the woods.

Ask for a public defender.

i thougth expunging the record removed it from public records?

and i have a previous deffered for a speeding ticket so will that affect my expungement?
