Can I Sell My 50% Of A House In California
I'm 50% owner of a large 6 bedroom home in CA. I share w/ my sister & our kids - she lives in the original front house, I live in the addition. I was planning to sell her my 50% in a few years (need to fix credit) & purchase my own home (a one story). Now she is considering buying a house & just renting her part of the home I live in. She makes enough money to not have to sell her part. If she does this & I want to sell in a few yrs she probably won't have the money to buy me out. Will I be stuck here? Am I able to sell anyone 50% of a property. My son has muscular dystrophy & the stairs are becoming increasingly hard to go up. My 3 yr old has a 50% chance of having the same disability. I don't want to be stuck in the back end of this house forever. The stairs may soon become a daily problem to deal with. I'm just planning for the future & I'm wondering if I should just sell now. Right now she would buy my half, but as her eyes wander around, everyday I'm afraid she is going to find another house to buy.

It depends on how your 50% is titled.
