H1 Transfer

Hi All,

I have a situation and it will be great if you can suggest.
I have H1 approved through company A.
I have not yet gone for the stamping.
My current employer, company B, is offering me a job. I
want to work for company B and on H1.
Is it possible to transfer the H1 to company B after getting it stamped for company A ?

You can't transfer an H1B before you start working. As it stands, Company B needs to apply for a new visa. Unless Employer A is exempt from the cap, you've already been counted against the cap, so that works in your favor.

Your alternative would be to enter, start working for Employer A, then transfer to Employer B. Generally speaking, you would want two or three paystubs from Employer A before you transfer.
