Can I Get Emancipated

I am 16 years old and will be 17 in almost 3 months.

I am currently living with both of my parents.

I'm in a very complicated situation, and i need emancipated, but don't know quite how and have some questions.


-Would I need my parents consent to get emancipated?

-Do I absolultly NEED a lawyer, or can I just represent myself?

-How long does it take to become emancipated?

-The fact my father can physically abusive, would that help?

-Is this ok, I plan on staying with a friend during the process, and after the emancipation process - until I can find a place of my own?


Is there anything else I should know?
Who do I contact to get emancipated and Is there anyway I can do this without going to court, and without my parents consent untill it's already over with?
