Emacipation Of 17 Year Old In Kentucky

So you guys are saying that there is no way that I can be emacipated when I turn 17?

I guess I just dont see how its abuse if I did something wrong to deserve to spankings

Yes, unless you are legally married (with parental consent) or on active duty with the military (with parental consent).

A spanking is one thing.

Hitting a child hard enough to break paddles, leave welts and bruises, etc. is a BEATING. That is NOT a spanking. It is abuse. (Pesonally, I consider 'spanking' a 17 year old to be abusive as well, but that's just me.)

Did you see the "with parental consent" part!? By the way if your service ends before your 18th Birthday you revert back to parental care

AHHHHHHH! This is so pathetic! I can't leave my house at 17 because there is no statute! That is SO STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!

You were given an answer on how to resolve your family issues if you choose to ignore that option the problem must not be that bad.

Sweetie, at 17, you can only do that with parental consent.

Let's think very carefully about this.

You do NOT want to join the military to get out of your home where your parents are mean to you. Do you have any idea the basic purpose of boot camp? You think you have low self esteem now? DSs aren't exactly uplifting and supportive.

If you want to serve your country, that's great. It's a very honorable choice and I would be proud if my children all chose the military...IF it's for the right reasons.

If you are looking at the military as an escape, that's not so great.
