    Possible Theft By Deception Charges
I need an advice on a problem that might result in filing charges against me or my company.
I am in the export business, and all my clients are abroad, I have made a deal with one of my clients, but I was stolen by deception by this client. He stood me up & never paid. This had put me & my business in a huge financial struggle; I'm talking about an amount over $70,000.
On the other hand, I had a signed contract with other clients to deliver goods, & I can’t seem to be able to honor those contracts because of that problem that was caused by the first mentioned client.
Clients are demanding their goods or their money, but I cannot deliver neither, I'm Flat broke at the time & my business is shut because of that.
What are my options here? I'm running crazy & scared; I don't know what to do?
Will bankruptcy solve this problem? What if I leave the Country before charges are filed? What if they Filed Charges?
Please advice back, what are my options here & what can I do to get out of this Limbo. :(
    Thanks

    1) Calm down.
    2) Bankruptcy is a long process. You'll need a lawyer to do it.
    3) Leave the country? Where would you go? Besides, you're broke, remember. Not a good choice - running from problems and responsibility. Makes you look like a crook as well.
    4) Without all the details, it would be hard to offer an opinion as to whether or not you committed any criminal act. This looks more like a civil matter at first glance. People don't get locked up for civil/money problems.
    5) You're probably going to need a lawyer. Sooner than later.
