The parents were on holidays. I don't even know if they knew their daughter organized a party. Honestly, I don't think they are responsable. One minor at the party : the boy.

No one here could possibly give you an answer as to what kind of sentence your daughter would get. We could only quote the law as it applies to your state. Its really a crap shoot. Your best hope is the best criminal defense attorney that you can find. Sounds like she is starting to accept what is happening to her.

I don't know if she is starting to accept. I hope. Her questions about prison are precise (individual cells ? privacy for shower and toilet ? violence again inmates ? But I don't know what they mean, and I have no real answer.

Can I get a serious answer, who can help me to convince her that prison isn't so terrific. I cant't believe the prison staff doesn't protect the young (and white) inmates, even convicted of sexual offenses.

You said the boy was drunk and he is a minor...the person who supplied him the alcohol should be charged with contributing to a minor. Doesn't matter if the parents were on holiday or not, the party happened under their roof. Whether or not you think they are responsible or not does not matter. It's against the law to give alcohol to a minor unless your their spouse or their parent.

Upsetdad, focusing on all of the negative things will not benefit anyone.

I understand that you want her to be prepared. I just think you all could spend your time focusing on getting her a lawyer and taking it one day at a time from there.

A women's prison is like a men's prison (without the urinals). Inmates have little to no privacy. She will get over being modest (you can only hold it so long). Phone calls are monitored, showers are similar to school lockeroom showers (no privacy), hygiene products will be made available, there will be times for visitation.....

If she needs to know what they are like she can plan on attending a tour.

During an evening, she was crazy. Her boyfriend said she was a sex maniac because he was angry. Being aroused one night doesn't mean she isn't modest, she'd like be naked, shower and pee in front of women inmates. And if the other inmates know why she is there and argumente as you, it could be dangerous for her.

Well, I don't know. Had this been Arkansas it would be perfectly legal. Weird I know. This is why I advocate a nationwide age of consent.

    Upset-- You have a pm.

While I don't approve of your daughter's actions, I ain't gonna shoot her, either. I also don't belive in beating someone that just wants to help his/her kid.

Under law, she did commit a crime; a felony. And she will meet with justice. The exact course of this justice cannot be guessed at, but it won't pleasant. Its a hard course of criminal education your entire family will have to deal with and I wish you all well.

I was a "victim" { if you want to call it that} of having a much older female seduce me. I was 9, she was 18. I said nothing about it and nothing became of it even though this went on for two years. And I have an older brother that is a sex offender {served 8 years in and 8 years out}.

Life is going to be hard for all of you during and after her prison term. Just be prepared for all of the changes you'll go through and the emotional roller coaster ride. Prison has a way of changing people and those around the convicted.

Best of luck to you and her.

    Sounds good in theory.
What weird is thinking that not so long ago it was normal for a 14 yr old to marry legally. My own grandmother married at 15.

Very well said. I for one feel exactly the same as you do. Thank you.

UpsetDad - I too sent you a pm.

I agree with zedex here. I am not going to berate you like the rest of these people have. Some people here see her as one of them molesters, and I can understand that. But I know you see in in a entirely different light. When you look at her you don't see a monster, but the girl you have loved and cared for 24 years. It's perfectly natural you try to minimize her crime. I would probably do the same if I were in your shoes.

Look, I know I like to joke a lot, but now I'm gonna be serious. I spent a few nights in jail for a DWI. They put me in a holding cell with a few other non-violent offenders. Just before dinner they brought in one of them child molesters. I recognized him from his picture on the local PD website. The jailer threw him into a private cell across the hall. When dinner came I asked him why he gave the sex offender his own private cell. My jailer explained to me that it was for HIS (the sex offenders) own protection. Child molesters are more hated IN jail than out in public. After the jailer left one of my cell mates said he would love to get his hands on "that sick S.O.B.)".

You appear to have very little knowledge of the criminal justice system (no offense); therefore, I'll try to explain it to you. Sex offenders are required to register for anywhere form 10 years to life. This applies even AFTER they serve their sentence. Their picture will be posted on the internet, and in the local news paper. Most state also restrict them from living within 1000 feet of certain areas. Including, but not limited to,schools, parks, bus stops, youth centers, swimming pools, basically anywhere where children congregate. To ensure they meet their requirements their parole officer will usually subject them to a ankle monitor. I suggest you Google Megan's Law, and Jessica's law for more information.

I will you the best of luck.

    Blue Eagle.
