Requesting Child's Birth Certificate When I'm Not Named On It
    Florida-

I want to have a copy of the birth certificate of the child I was just proven to be the father of. In order to do so, my county requires that the person requesting the copy be on the birth certificate, which I am not. However, I am going through an administrative proceeding through the DOR and as I mentioned have just been genetically tested and proven to be the father of the child. Will the DOR put my name on the birth certificate? I'm not sure how this works...I know I have to sign the birth certificate, so when is that going to happen. And after that I will be able to acquire a copy of the certificate, correct?

And another question I have is: Can I request a copy of my case file with the DOR like you can do at a clerk court office in a county for public records? I know that the state obviously has a file, but I am keeping my own records of everything that is sent and recorded as well and I would like to keep this on hand. Does anyone know?

Please keep the responses detailed, but to the point without any personal comments...
    Thanks!

No, the DOR won't change the BC. As soon as you have a court order establishing you as the father, you can file to amend the BC. Then you will be able to recieve a copy of the BC.

You can request a copy of your DOR file, but I've never heard of any parent being given a copy. It's worth asking though, the worst they can do is say no.
