Standar Visitation Agreement Between States
I live in Florida and my ex lives in North Carolina. We were never married and I just filed for custody and visitation for my 2 year old daughter that lives with me (mother). In the visitation agreement that I filed I said that every other holiday and summers was what I wanted. Well that was 3 months ago, we haven't been to court yet and I would like to change that agreement. I have no problem with the alternating holidays, but I do not think that my daughter would understand 2 or 3 months away from her mother during a summer at her age. Am I allowed to change that and if so, how do I do that? Do I just wait for the court date and bring it up then? The new visitation agreement that i thought would be better is every 3 months for a week of her father's choosing and 2 or 3 weeks during the summer and alternating holidays would remain the same. He thinks that I should also drive halfway evertime there is a visitation, and i disagree. I think that he should pick her up and drop her off if he wants to visit. Any help is good I really just need to know what i can do, what is reasonable, and know that i dont need a lawyer to do it. What would a fair visitation agreement be considering her age and our distance, including who makes the drive.

I'm assuming that the court orders/agreemnet is in Fl, correct?
You can read the statutes regarding visitation at www.flsenate.gov/STATUTES in chapter 61.
You'll most likely be required to attend mediation before the final hearing, that is when you can bring up any changes you want to make to the existing agreement. If your county doesn't require mediation, you can file a motion asking for a mediation, but that does cost extra because the mediator's fees have to be paid.
