Can I Travel Outside The U.S. With Expired Green Card While Renewal Is Pending
    Hi,

I've applied for i-90, renewal of green card and my case is pending. It's been almost 3 months since I filed it in November, 2007. What things matters worse, yesterday, I had to go USCIS for fingerprint retaken.

Here's the problem. My green card expires early March but I need to travel outside the U.S. for a honeymoon for 7 days from April 21. But I'm not confident that my green card ican be renewed before the expiration date.

What should I do to go honeymoon in April? Can I just leave because my case is pending? or Should I get a temporary travel stamp (if there's any) on my passport from USCIS? Any suggestions please?

    I'll appreciate your answers ASAP.

What will happen if I present an expired Green Card when I try to reenter the United States after traveling abroad, or when I obtain a new job, or when I apply for entitlement benefits?

Re-entry into the United States from abroad: To the extent possible, apply for your new Green Card before you travel and bring with you on any trip the temporary documentation you receive at the time of filing to renew your Green Card. If after traveling abroad you try to re-enter the United States with an expired Green Card, you may experience a delay during the inspection process at the port-of-entry.
