Identity Theft And Forgery In Washington
More than 6 years ago, I was arrested in a check cashing establishment while attempting to cash a fake $2,500 check with a fake ID (identity theft victim was already dead). I was released from the jail and I returned to my home out of the state several days later without being brought in front of a judge. Years later I found out that I have an outstanding arrest warrant in Washington. I was told that I would be arrested if I attempted to travel because I am "flagged" although my crime is non-extraditionary. Is there a staute of limitations for my crimes(forgery/identity theft) both Class C felonies and if not, how do I deal with this situation?
Re: Identity Theft/Forgery In Washington
The statute of limitations doesn't apply once the charges were filed.
The best way to handle it is hire a criminal defense attorney to try and get this resolved.
